Went to Tienanmen Square and the Forbidden City. It was  really hot and the crush of people was quite intimidating.  Hard to get a cup of coffee so went without today. There is a Starbucks  somewhere around here but I had no time to scope it out and they didn’t serve it  in the cafeteria here. My room is quite comfortable. Our group attracts a lot of  attention- particularly because Jarrod is 6′ 7′. ‘  We  routinely are asked by people here if   they can stand with us when they take a picture.

 Tomorrow we have an academic  orientation and then to the Pearl Market and the Temple of Heaven.
