I first got interested in politics during the 2016 presidential election and decided to take this newfound interest and joined the Model United Nations club as a freshman in high school. I’m particularly interested in women’s rights and environmental issues.

I work with the Education Director, Nicole Struth, to help plan the Model UN conference. Right now I’m researching possible topics for the conference!

4. What do you do in your free time?
I really love to read – especially finance, self-help and fiction books! I read almost a book a day. I also love to follow what’s going on in the fashion world.

5. Why do you think that global engagement is important?
The world is more interconnected than ever but the United States still doesn’t think in a global context. I think it’s very important to understand global issues to understand the issues within America, as well as to understand our place in solving them.

6. Do you have any tips on how to get involved in global affairs?
Mainly to keep up with current world news. It’s super convenient to read news on my phone and I love to catch-up when I’m drinking my coffee. Also I loved participating in Model UN in high school and I highly recommend it.
